What’s your business and who are your customers?

I am a Registered Dietitian at @energy.reboot.nutritionist specializing in hormonal health and particular period health. My clients are girls and women of reproductive age (including perimenopause) who are looking for ways to balance their hormonal health, combat PMS symptoms, normalize their menstrual cycles and live healthier lives.

Explain your experience and how you use it to help clients.  

My experience in women’s health and period health comes from multiple backgrounds, both professional and personal. As a Dietitian, I have an in-depth understanding of foods and nutrients as well as the physiology of the human body, and how these may influence each other.  

Menstrual Health Nutrition is a very new area and good research is still scarce, leaving lots of room for confusion and misleading advertising. Before opening my private practice I spent a few years doing clinical research and scientific writing, which allows me to help my clients to navigate through the Google maze safely and to provide them with the best science evidence and up-to-date advice on the topic!

I am not just a practitioner, but also a woman who went through PMS and other menstrual health-related issues in the past, so my clients can always know that I understand and relate to what they are telling me about.

What areas do you practice in?

Diabetes and Blood Sugar Concerns, Emotional Eating, Heart Health, Intuitive Eating, Mindful Eating, Vegan and Vegetarian, Weight Loss.

Tell us about yourself. For example, what first got you started working on your business, and what motivates you each day to do what you do?

I created Energy Reboot Nutritionist because I strongly believe that it is time to stop relying on hormonal contraception as the panacea solution for an array of symptoms. As health professionals, we can do so much better than this! I noticed that more often than not we only talk about our cycle health in the context of pregnancy. But what about outside of it? What about teenage girls who are just starting their journeys, or women who are not planning pregnancy at this moment in their lives? There is growing evidence that a healthy menstrual cycle is at the core of our health and wellness and that is exactly why I started @energy.reboot.nutritionist.

My sole desire and passion are to help women to learn about their bodies and empower them to heal from within, so they can thrive and live their best lives, and feel beautiful and energized. This is what motivates me every day!

What’s your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

Every “win” that my clients had (no matter how big or small) on their health and wellness journey I consider my biggest accomplishment because I know that my mission was achieved!

What’s one of the hardest things that comes with being a business owner?

Time management. Entrepreneurship is a 24/7 journey, so you need to make sure to structure your day in a way that allows breaks and personal time.

What are the top 3 tips you’d give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

-Focus on your mission (if you are like me and have a creative mind, you will get thousands of great ideas along the way. Write them down somewhere but keep your focus on one main thing).

-Be true to yourself (this one seems easy, but I find it to be the most difficult one, especially if you are working in a virtual space).

-Don’t compare yourself to other businesses (I don’t remember who said this, but it helped me a lot in the very beginning of my journey: “don’t compare your chapter 1 to someone else’s chapter 20).
