by Lindsey McGregor, RD
Becky Bell

What’s your business, and who are your customers?

I own Rooted Nutrition Therapies, a functional nutrition practice that helps women optimize their metabolism and lose weight without restrictive dieting.

Explain your experience and how you use it to help clients?

I have been a Registered Dietitian for over 15 years and have experience working with a wide range of conditions including weight management, kidney disease, liver disease, diabetes, and digestive health. I am also trained in functional medicine, which allows me to help my clients get beyond just calories and address the root causes of weight loss resistance and metabolic dysfunction.

What areas do you practice in?

Weight management, Metabolism, Gut health, Hormone health, Blood sugar management

Tell us about yourself.

I’m a pastor’s wife and mom of 3 amazing kiddos!  I live in Colorado and I love enjoying the outdoors with my family. I also love cooking and trying out new Denver restaurants! My passion is to help women live with freedom and purpose, and empower them to be the healthiest version of themselves!

What’s your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

My biggest accomplishment as a business owner is creating a space where women can feel heard and empowered in their health. Too many women feel dismissed by their healthcare providers and wonder if they are crazy when they have symptoms that can’t be explained. I am proud of the fact that I have built a nutrition practice focused on getting to the root cause and using food as medicine for health transformation.

What’s the hardest thing that comes with being a business owner?

The hardest part of being a business owner is realizing that I can’t do it all!  I have way too many ideas and passions for my 24 hours a day and constantly have to stay focused on what I can actually accomplish in my work.

What are the top 3 tips you’d give to anyone looking to start, run, and grow a business today?

  1. Get specific with who you want to serve- no one can serve every type of client with excellence!
  2. Invest in a business coach.
  3. Stay consistent and don’t give up when it takes time to build your business.
