Business Story: Anisha Gupta, Registered Dietitian

by Dawid Furman
Anisha Gupta, Registered Dietitian

What’s your business and who are your customers?

I help busy men and women achieve their health and weight loss goals by creating customized nutrition plans that fit into their unique lifestyles. I have a specialty in helping them balance blood sugars, have better heart health, and helping women learn how to thrive with PCOS by holding their hand every step of the way.

Explain your experience and how you use it to help clients.

My signature program has been a work in progress over the past 9 years that I’ve been a Dietitian. I have worked with hundreds of clients to understand how important it is to create a lifestyle that works for them, so that they can sustain their results. I help my clients learn how to eat their cultural foods in a way that will support their health goals.

What areas do you practice in?

Allergies and Intolerance, Diabetes and Blood Sugar Concerns, Digestive Health, Emotional Eating, Heart Health, Intuitive Eating, Kidney Disease, Mental Health, Mindful Eating, Older Adult Nutrition, Oncology, PCOS, Pediatrics, Pregnancy and Breastfeeding, Sports Nutrition, Vegan and Vegetarian, Weight Loss, Weight-Inclusive.

Tell us about yourself. For example, what first got you started working on your business, and what motivates you each day to do what you do?

Knowing that I help change lives every day is what motivates me to work hard for my clients.

What’s your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

My biggest accomplishment is my signature program: Surviving to Thriving Nutrition Program. This shapes lives in a way that they will never go back to their old ways of thinking about food. I am very proud of that.

What’s one of the hardest things that comes with being a business owner?

Time management and juggling family life. I have a hard time disconnecting from work and focusing on my kids.

What are the top 3 tips you’d give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

  1. Focus on one thing at a time – too many ideas make it hard to be successful.
  2. Time blocking so you can create a balance.
  3. Your peers are not your enemy – they are helping to uplift our profession as a whole.
