Ruth is a leading registered dietitian nutritionist and health coach who empowers individuals and groups to reach their health and nutrition goals. Her practice emphasizes food as medicine, and she uses proven nutrition strategies with a common sense approach to optimize wellness and prevent disease. Ruth earned both her Masters in Public Health (MPH) and her Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) credential from UC Berkeley. She founded Alameda Nutrition in 2009 and is honored to work with private clients as well as Alameda Head Start. In the past, Ruth has been a lecturer at UC Berkeley, has taught diabetes and wellness classes at local hospitals, has been a past president of the Bay Area Dietetic Association and has served on advisory committees to both the UC Berkeley and San Francisco State University dietetic internship program. When not immersed in the world of nutrition, you can find her running or hiking around the bay area, digging in her garden, drinking ginger tea, or kicking a soccer ball with her kids.

It is the client's responsibility to call your insurance and verify benefits. We will do our best to work with you and your insurance company because we understand that nutrition is important! Accepted insurance includes Aetna HMO, Blue Cross Blue Shield PPO, Contra Costa Health Plan, Hill Physicians HMO, and Sutter East Bay Medical Foundation. Insurance must be verified for Anthem Blue Cross PPO, Brown & Toland Medical Group, and United Health Care PPO. Insurance is NOT accepted for Aetna PPO, Affinity Medical Group, Alameda Alliance, Cigna Hill Physicians PPO, John Muir Medical Group, Medicare, Medical, Medicaid, Palo Alto Medical Foundation, and Sutter Select.
