Eating wisely is not about depriving yourself of your favourite foods in order to get healthy.
Eating wisely is about making the right decisions for you, based on your health and your goals.
Everyone is different. Since qualifying as a dietitian in 2005 it’s rare that I see two people with exactly the same problems who need exactly the same advice.
By helping you eat wisely we talk about not just what you eat but how you eat. If it’s hard to change a behavior, we talk about why and work on specific action steps on how to change, rather than what to change.
Every step of the way.
I can see you in person or via zoom and follow up on telephone. I see people at Wise Eats in Parksville, individually and/or in a small support group with people struggling with the same eating problems. I also collaborate with your other health care providers as needed.
Rachel McBryan, BSc, RD is a Registered Dietitian and Craving Change Facilitator. She received her undergraduate degree in Nutrition and Food Science (Dietetic Program) from the University of Alberta and is registered in good standing with the College of Dietitians of British Columbia. In addition to starting her private practice, Wise Eats, Rachel continues to work as a clinical dietitian with Island Health, where she has: counseled clients in outpatient, home care and long-term care including dysphagia, eating disorders, chronic disease and weight management.
