Verified registered dietitian. Our team has personally checked the credentials of this dietitian.
My name is Lindsay and I am a registered dietitian and board certified specialist in renal nutrition! I became a registered dietitian in 2009 and spent my first few years working in the hospital setting. In 2014, I got a job at a dialysis center which sparked my passion for renal nutrition.
When working with those on dialysis, I realized that majority of my patients were never referred to a dietitian in order to slow the progression of their kidney disease. There were no dietitians specializing in non-dialysis kidney disease in my area, so I decided to take action by starting a private practice. My mission is to help those with chronic kidney disease slow or stop the progression of their disease so they can delay or even avoid ending up on dialysis.
In my private practice, I provide individual and group counseling to those with stage 1-5 chronic kidney disease. My approach to nutrition counseling is practical and effective – by simplifying nutrition concepts for my clients they feel confident in making better food choices.
I am the current chair elect of the National Kidney Foundation Council on Renal Nutrition for the New England region. I’m also a member of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics and the Renal Nutrition Practice Group. I was a presenter at the 2023 Nutritionist Dietitians’ Association of the Philippines Annual Hybrid Convention where I spoke on plant-based diets for chronic kidney disease and dialysis.
As a food lover myself, it’s important to me that I help those with kidney disease continue to find enjoyment in what they eat. In my spare time I’m spending time with my family and two young boys, exercising and testing out new plant-based recipes.
I am in-network with Medicare, Athem/BCBS, Cigna, Harvard Pilgrim, United Healthcare and Humana.
