About

Have you been looking for an experienced Registered Dietitian to help with weight loss or weight gain? Or do you have pre-diabetes or type 2 diabetes and want to better control your blood sugar? I can help with these, as well as lowering high blood pressure and cholesterol and to improve the markers of non-alcoholic fatty liver disease. I have considerable experience in several areas of digestive health and food allergies and sensitivities. I design prenatal Meal Plans to support pregnant women through all three trimesters of their pregnancy, as well as women struggling with the symptoms of PCOS, or menopause. I am experienced developing anti-inflammatory Meal Plans for those with inflammatory conditions, including rheumatoid arthritis, ankylosing spondylitis or psoriatic arthritis to help reduce the symptoms associated with those conditions. My knowledge in designing therapeutic ketogenic diets for mental and physical health is another reason people seek my services.

I’m Joy Kiddie, a full-time Registered Dietitian (RD) and Registered Nutritionist (RDN) with a post-graduate degree in Human Nutrition. I have been in private practice in Coquitlam, British Columbia since 2008, and have provided virtual services for over a decade to people in other provinces. I am passionate about helping people feel better and to restore their health.

For more than 15 years, I have supported people with food allergies and food sensitivities, and various digestive (gut) disorders to eat a healthy and varied diet. In the last 10 years, I have provided dietary support for women with PCOS, and ‘women of a certain age’ with the symptoms of menopause. The past 6 years, I have gained experience designing therapeutic ketogenic diets as an adjunct treatment for mental and physical health.

Three Categories of Services

I offer the following three categories of services and these are outlined below and elaborated on in detail by clicking on the links.

Routine services include support for healthy eating, weight management, improved metabolic health, prenatal support, and anti-inflammatory diets.

For PCOS and menopause support, please see III – Specialized Therapeutic Diets.

There are three ways to get started with routine services.

II — DIGESTIVE and GUT HEALTH SERVICES

Digestive health services includes packages for those newly diagnosed with inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) or celiac disease, people struggling with the symptoms of irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) or food sensitivities and food allergies.

Please visit the web page to read about each of these packages.

III —SPECIALIZED THERAPEUTIC DIET SUPPORT

Includes Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome (PCOS), menopause management, therapeutic ketogenic (keto) diet for mental or physical health, support for food addiction.

Multicultural Services

I am very knowledgeable with the foods and cultural practices of many regions of Asia and South Asia, North Africa, the Caribbean, the Middle East, and the Mediterranean and this enables me to provide culturally-appropriate food options so people can eat with their extended families. I am very experienced designing Meal Plans for vegetarians and those with ethical, cultural, or religious food practices.

Multigenerational Services

I enjoy working with people of all ages and stages of life, including individuals, couples, and multiple members of the same family. I support the needs of children over the age of six, teens, youth, young adults and seniors.

Extended Benefits Coverage

While the cost of everything has increased, I have deliberately not raised my prices so they fit within most people’s extended benefits coverage and remain affordable to those without benefits.
