Coquitlam, British Columbia + Virtual Services

About

I’m Joy Kiddie, a full-time Registered Dietitian who has been in clinical practice in Coquitlam, British Columbia since 2008. I have been providing virtual dietetic services across Canada for a decade and am currently licensed in British Columbia, Alberta and Ontario.

I am passionate about helping people feel better, restore their health, and achieve sustainable weight loss. I support people with GI disorders, including Crohn’s and ulcerative colitis, celiac disease and IBS, food allergies and food sensitivities, autoimmune conditions, type 2 diabetes, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, and PCOS. I have more than five years of experience teaching low-carb and ketogenic (keto) diets.

I provide nutrition education for people diagnosed with gout, Early Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD), GERD, diverticulitis/diverticulosis, and hiatus hernia and teach different types of dietary modifications, including a low sodium diet, low or high potassium diet, a low FODMAP diet, as well as an anti-inflammatory protocol (AIP).

There is no one-size-fits-all meal pattern, so I offer a range of evidence-based dietary approaches, from a modified Mediterranean or DASH diet to a low-carb or ketogenic diet.

I work with adults of all ages and stages of life, including individuals, couples, and multiple members of the same family. I provide expectant mothers with prenatal nutrition and support their nutritional needs once their baby is born. I also work with children over the age of six and youth and young adults.

I am very familiar with the foods and cultural practices of many regions of Asia and South Asia, North Africa, the Middle East, and the Mediterranean, which helps me to provide nutrition services in a culturally relevant manner and am comfortable working with those with various dietary restrictions, whether they are for cultural, religious, or health reasons.
